Message contact name not showing on lock screen

Since the upgrade of iOS 9, few contact names (not all) only shows +44xxxxxxxxxx number instead of the names. Looking at some guides they mention to turn off dial assist which I have, reset my phone, ensured my contacts didn't start with the international dialing code, and also deleted contacts and re-added.

I'm on the Three network, and this is also affecting friends on EE and Virgin.

Is there ever gonna be a fix for this bug from Apple, if so, if not why not?
