Is there a way to put photos in an album and delete off moments?

I Have the IPad 9.2.1 version. I want to put some of my photos in albums but, would like to take them off of the "photos"page. I don't like having duplicates because it takes up too much space. Is there a way to do this?

No, Camera Roll photos will appear in both places - and they aren't duplicates, the Photos and Album tabs in the Photos app show you the same photos, they don't have their own separate copies of the photos.

And when you 'copy' a photo into an album you aren't creating a second copy of the photo, the album is effectively just pointing to the photo (so if you delete the photos from the Camera Roll album it will also be removed from any albums that you've 'copied' it into).

You can sync albums via iTunes (they will go into the Photos app), if you connect the iPad and select it you should get a Photos tab e.g.

User uploaded file

That allows you to select folders from your computer - if you do that then be aware that those photos can't be deleted directly in the Photo app, instead they are removed by not including them in the next photo sync (so that also means that you have to select and sync all the photos that you want from your computer together in one go)

Photos that you take with the iPad you can delete in the Photos app via the trashcan icon.

But photos that are synced from a computer are treated differently, they can'y be deleted directly in the Photos app, the trashcan icon will be disabled for them. Instead they are deleted by not including them in your next photo sync - so if, for example, you selected and synced folder A from your computer via your computer's iTunes, to delete those photos from the iPad you would have to reconnect the iPad to your computer, deselect folder A in iTunes, and resync.

That also means that you have to select any photos that you want from your computer and sync them in one go - you can't sync folder A, and then sync folder B, as that would remove album A from the iPad and replace it with folder B ; you would have to select A and B and sync both together.
