Alesis Q49 Issue

Hi all,

I've been having a problem with my Alesis Q49 keyboard controller with Logic X.

Every 7th and 8th note triggers one and other. For instance when I hit an F on the low end of the keyboard it also plays a Gb, then the same thing happens again after another 7 intervals all the way up the keyboard. It's bugging me because every now and then it switches back to being ok.

Is there something I haven't got set right either in the keyboard or on my computer, or is it likely a fault with the keyboard?

Anyone else experienced a similar problem or has a resolution?

Thanks

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

The first thing to do is to work out if its the Q49, your midi interface (if used), another external Midi device (or iOS app) ... or Logic thats causing this..

So..

Download the excellent free Midi Monitor...

http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

Run that and see what it sees as you play your Q49....

If you see the extra/wrong notes then that narrows it down to your Q49 or if you are using one rather than the built in USB... your midi interface...

If its the Q49 then try resetting it to factory defaults...

  • Press the [MIDI/SELECT] button (the button should light up)
  • Then press the [RESET] key
  • Finally, to execute the function, press the [ENTER] button.
