- Check that you have set up the Activity app on your watch. When viewing the time on your watch:
- Tap on the Activity rings complication.
- Or go the Home screen (via a single press of the Digital Crown) and tap on the Activity app icon (coloured rings).
- If the app has not yet been set up, you will then need to enter some personal information.
- Check that you have enabled notifications from the Activity app:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Activity - check that:

Feb 6, 2016 9:54 AM in response to Tori.Annby Jonathan UK,When enabling Wrist Detection, you may find it most convenient to use this combination of settings:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode > Turn Passcode on (choose either a Simple Passcode or a more complex one).
- Also on the Passcode settings screen, enable Unlock with iPhone.
After putting it on your wrist, your watch will then unlock after whatever you do first: either unlocking your watch manually (by entering the passcode) or unlocking your iPhone.
It will then remain unlocked until you remove it from your wrist, when it will lock again automatically.
