Left side of trackpad not working

The left side of the trackpad on my macbook air is not clicking. I looked up what could be calling this and the internet said it could be a swollen battery, but under they system report it said my battery condition is normal. Could it still be a swollen battery? Without realizing it, I have been using a charger that is not apple for the last few months, but I just ordered an apple charger. If I switch chargers and I don't experience any other problems with my computer is there any reason to still be worried?
