Where do I "type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices"

If it's pre 9, you have to enter the verification code along with your regular password, which matches the wording of the message.

Problem is - He didn't ask for it, just like other people who had 2FA enabled that I have spoken to. None of them asked. None of them knew. If one of two told me they do not know - I would think mistake, human error. Not one or two. Poorest execution by Apple that any other feature that I know.

Hi, my problem is that i don't get a field to complete. the first time of entering the password it advises code will be sent and enter it after the password, i am then shown the OK button, if i say ok i get the code sent to trusted device, but then don't have anywhere to enter the password and the code. if i close the iCloud and reopen it goes back to the enter password which if i enter the password and verification code it tells me password incorrect and i then go into the same loop again.

So yeah as LACAllen said what you do:

1. Sign in on Mac

2. Get your verification code on iPhone or iPad

3. Click ok on Mac --> back to sign in page

4. Type: YourPasswrodVerificationCode i.e. ABCDEFG123456

This is the case for me as well. Causes old devices to be obsolete. Thanks Apple for helping everyone have less to have to be forced to buy.

I have similar issues too.. I can't open my Facetime on mac. It keeps asking me to type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices. After I clicked OK on my phone and type the password for Facetime again on mac but it keeps repeating the same things... 😕

I am having issues with my verification code system. The code appears on my iPhone but the boxes to type the code into my MacBook do not appear.... if I just start typing the code it just goes back to the login page. Very frustrating set-up! If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

I just tried to replicate your issue - when I signed into iCloud on my phone it did not ask for a verification code

Can you perhaps post a picture of the message on your screen?

This sounds like you have either 2 Step Verification or 2 Factor Authorization enabled on your Apple ID.

Both use codes sent to trusted devices.
