Q: when iphone is connected to vehicle the gear keeps spinning

When I connect my iphone to my vehicle using Bluetooth it connects and the phone works fine, my problem is the iphone keeps searching for other devices and the gear keeps spinning causing the battery to lose power fast.

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.2.1

The fact the gear appears spinning is because you are looking at Bluetooth. If you get away from Bluetooth in Settings, then the device is no longer in discovery/pairing mode. The iPhone searching in Bluetooth does not use that much battery, so that is not what is causing battery usage. Something else is causing you to experience battery issues if you are experiencing that. But to keep from seeing the search, get out of Bluetooth.
