logitech bluetooth mouse M557 keep disconnecting

Just purchased a Logitech bluetooth mouse (M557) a few days ago. It was easy to have it detected, however, I realize it loses connection every time the macbook is left idle for a while (few minutes)... Very annoying since it seems impossible to reactivate connexion else than logging off my session (or restarting computer) and only then, it will reconnect by itself.

I am also newly on OSX 10.11.3 (I have read some concerns about bluetooth under El Capitan...) so wondering if the mouse is the problem, or if it's OSX-related.

since the price tag on the Logitech was not that much lower when compared to the Apple mouse, also wondering if I would be more succesful with the Apple mouse, as I still can return the Logitech at this stage...

Hi

Thanks for the link on Logitech. Actually it also refer to a Logitech link. I'm a little puzzled here, since the problem they describe seems to be related to devices with Unifying usb plugs (it also states that those models - at least some - have bluetooth capabilities - however, not clear if such capabilities still require the USB plug or are ''real'' bluetooth - like mine - connecting without any ''intermediary''). My model is bluetooth only, and is not in the list appearing there...

But at least, it seems like Logitech recognizes some issues... Thanks for pointing out 🙂

I went back in and logitech Does not have much as relates to your mouse. They say try a new or known good battery. Disconnect any wireless devises that are near by or move away from then . Such as even phones. Or delete and reinstall the bluetooth mouse in bluetooth. Normally ,there is no need for an install driver to use bluetooth on a mac. Here's there solution. http://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/44604
