I have an iPhone 5 which has a storage capacity of 12.5 GB. I keep getting notices that my iCloud storage is full, even though I have deleted mail & photos. I have not been able to delete an iBook. Can anyone help with these problems?

Try going to Settings/iCloud/Storage/Manage to see what is on iCloud. You should be able to delete items there.

Your iPhone storage is different from your iCloud storage.
You can see your Phone (local) storage in Settings > General > Storage > Manage Storage to get your internal storage
and to get to your iCloud storage go to Settings > General > iCloud > Manage Storage and your storage will appear.
