Multi-timbral and aux tracks in arrange window

Hello,

I'm using a multi-timbral instrument in Logic Pro X and adding aux tracks in the arrange window. When I do this, I have two tracks of the same name, one is the arrange track for automation, pan etc and the other is the actual instrument track. Is this the only way to control the parameters of an individual midi channel? Seems cumbersome and confusing. You have to create channels in the mixer, channels in arrange...

Right now I've got the two tracks (aux and the actual instrument) in a track stack and then just naming the stack as the instrument (if that makes sense?)

Basically, is there an easier way to deal with this arrange/aux setup??

Logic Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Hi

You could use a slightly simpler approach:

Create an Instrument track and load a Multi-Output instance of the plugin.

In the Mixer, click the small + at the bottom of that instrument channel to add the Aux output channels.

Create Tracks for these Aux channels

You can record MIDI directly to these Aux Tracks.
