apple not accepting my verizon wireless password

I am trying to buy a new phone with a new contract on my wireless plan. Apple, in order to check my eligibility to "upgrade", is asking for information regarding my wireless. Details include Phone Number, Billing Zip & last 4 digits of SSN. Then after that is inputted, Apple asks for the password to the wireless account. But, when I enter the password, apple says its incorrect. However, I'm able to sign into my wireless acount's website with that password.

I noticed that Apple is only letting me type in a certain amount of characters when it asks for my password for my wireless account. Is anyone else having this issue? Any advice?

I am an AT&T customer, so the signin process may be slightly different. My guess is it's the same as Verizon, so here's what I am asked for.

Like you, I have to enter the wireless phone number, the billing ZIP and the last 4 of SSN.

However, I am then shown this screen:

I have protected my AT&T account with a numeric passcode in addition to the wireless account password. I am not being asked for the wireless account password. I am being asked for the passcode, different from the password (and indeed shorter).

I suspect you are being asked this as well.
