Disk Utility: Erase process has failed

Hi,

I have just bought a new Seagate Expansion Drive, and it was formatted as a windows drive so I went to Disk Utility and erase/formatted it to OS X Extended (Journaled). It came up with this error a few seconds after starting:User uploaded fileIt says there is not enough space on the drive, but it is a brand new 2,000GB drive! Please help! (Also please note this screenshot was taken the second time I tried to erase it)

You have replied to a SOLVED thread over 8 months old and failed to supply any useful additional information.

Please take the following steps:

• take a screenshot of the problem window in Disk Utility by holding command-Shift-4; press the spacebar; click in the window you wish to capture. The screen shot will be placed in a timestamped file on the desktop (by default), and can be added to your reply on the forum.

• start a NEW topic with a catchy title that will attract the readers you think may be able to help you

• include exactly which of the more than 50 models named MacBook Pro or dozens of models named Mac Pro you have on hand.

• include what version of Mac OS X you are using, and whether you are using Disk Utility in the running system or in recovery mode.
