Q: iTunes splits up all songs by the same artist on artist page

Hello, I recently burned some CD's to my computer (all by the same artist). They show up fine on the album page: http://imgur.com/32Sab4E However when I view this artist (tool) from the artist page all the songs are split up and recognized as separate artists: http://imgur.com/THAC5yc (even though in "get info" i changed them all to the same thing)

I need to sync these to my iphone and I really dont want each song to show up as a separate artist on it.

Any suggestions?

Hi SystemBlower,

I understand that you've imported a number of CDs into iTunes, but that the songs appear as separate albums. Fortunately the article linked below details why this can happen and how to correct it so that the appropriate songs are grouped as a single album.

Switch to the Songs view. Select all tracks by Tool, then Get Info. Switch to the Sorting tab. Change Album Artist, Sort Album Artist, Artist, and Sort Artist to ToolX. Click OK to apply the change, Get Info again and remove the Xs.
