Q: iPhone videos won't sync to Photos (but normal photos do)

Hi,

 

I have an iPhone 4s, with iOs.9.2, and a MacBook Pro with Os X Yosemite 10.10.

 

My photos from my iPhone automatically sync to Photos on my Mac, and the videos I had on my phone also used to sync but they don't anymore as of about October 2015.

 

How can I get my videos off my iPhone onto my Mac, and to sync alongside my photos?

have tried via USB but I don't know what to do next; I don't want to put them into iMovie, just into Photos and to have them automatically sync to my Mac like my photos do.

 

I am constantly running out of space on my iPhone and need to be able to drop my videos somewhere where they can be safe.

 

(sidenote: I don't have space for my pics and videos on iCloud and can't afford the premium storage, so for now it's not an iCloud issue.)

My Photo Stream supports JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and most RAW photo formats. My Photo Stream doesn't work with video.

 

 

 

You need to either us ICPL, iTunes sync or ImageCapture to transfer the videos

    We can not see you so you have to provide information

     

    exactly how are you syncing your Phone to Photos? What changed in October?

    Hey,

     

    my phone syncs automatically to Photos. I don't do anything, they just appear on my laptop.

     

    In October I did a reset of my phone & installed ios9.

     

    Which must have soemthing to do with it... just odd that my photos sync fine, but not videos.

     

    I'm really at a loss as to what to do.

    To "sync automatically" you have set that up - how do yu have it set up?

     

    iCloud PHoto Library?

    MyPhotoStream?

    iCloud Photo Sharing?

    iTUnes Sync?

    Third Party Software?

    Other method?

     

    how is it happening - there is no "magic" snc - everything is set up by you and depending on what set up you have the answer is going to be different

    Hi Larry,

     

    On my iPhone photos are linked to laptop via PhotoStream.

     

    I don't have iCloud library or photo sharing because I don't have enough space.

     

    I really need to get these videos off my phone and onto my laptop and I've just no idea how, especially as videos were syncing fine before I installed iOS9 on my phone.
