iMac Messages no longer synchronises messages between iMac/ipad etc. Going to accounts in preferences in messages, the imessage account window is just grey.
Tried deleting ichat settings in Library/Preferences to no avail. Any suggestions?

Restore the OS
The Preferences panel is also missing the Video/Audio icon.
This means it is deeper than just the syncing of iMessages.
There is no may to reinstall Messages on it's own.

Thanks Ralph, how do I restore the OS? Do I use reinstall OS X in OS X recovery? Don't want to loose setting/data!
