Photo Booth video not working

When will a fix be coming in 2016 for photo booth video. It has been freezing since the initial upgrade from Mountain Lion back in 2012. Apple went through all available solutions and found out that the video component in photo booth does not freeze with the initial operating system that came with the computer in 2011. The upgrades after that has caused some kind of malfunction which now causes photo booth to lock up and eventually freeze the screen, I cannot use it record home videos anymore.
