Sims 4 keeps crashing

Hi, since the update to El Captain (at end of last year), my Sims 4 game keeps crashing. I have spoken to EA and done everything that they have asked but still no luck. They say it could be down to a memory leak or RAM problems. I started speaking to an Apple advisor who told me to reset PRAM and SMC. I have also done a hardware diagnostic but it showed up with no reported problems. Can anyone help please?
