Is it possible to use MBP 9,2 ram in iMac 12,2?

I have 2x2GB Ram taken out of my Mid 2012 (i5) MBP and I was wondering if it will work in my Late 2011 iMac 27 (i5) as i still have two ram slots free. I know that they are both DDR3Ls but they run on different MHZs 1600 and 1333. I know this could be an issue but I also hear that many motherboards have no issue taking a small difference in MHZ. Any suggestions? Is it safe to do it? Thank you!
