damaged .flv file

I am using Yosemite 10.10.5 on a (late 2009) iMac with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB memory.

I am trying to move (copy) files from an older flash drive to a new one.

Each time, it stops when it hits a certain file, and gives me a -36 error message. I believe this indicates the file is corrupt or damaged and the system can't read it.

This has happened on both a .flv file and a .pdf file. When I try to move them to the trash, they won't go. Nothing has seemed to work to get them off the old flash drive..

What can I do to either fix these files or get rid of them?
