You posted in the Macbook Pro community but your post indicates you are looking for a Macbook. Are you looking for a Macbook Pro or a Macbook?

If you are looking for a Macbook Pro, you can get one from the online store configured to your specs. Given your usage I suggest you get 16GB RAM and as large as you can storage space. I also suggest the 15" screen for your design work.

If you are looking for a Macbook, try asking in the Macbook community.

Personally, I'd stay away from the 12" MacBook. Its under powered, and slightly overpriced.

For Graphic and Web design work, pretty much any MacBook Pro will do. I'd pump up the Ram as much as possible since it cannot be changed after purchase.

In regards to the storage, get as much as you can afford, but don't over burden your budget with it. RAM is more important. Its cheaper to get an external drive, than it is to increase the internal storage on an MBP.

Go for the larger 15" screen MBP since you are getting this for Design work, though note that this will make it heavier, and slightly more cumbersome to carry around.

Thank you Bob & Phil.

Really happy with your feedback.

My Apology, i mean to say Macbook Pro only (Not just Macbook).

After looking at your reply, how would be the following configuration:

13-inch with Retina display [I already have 22" monitor which i will use for big display output]

2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache
128GB PCIe-based flash storage [I already have external 1TB Storage device ]8GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 onboard memory
Intel Iris Graphics 6100

Can i get 16GB memory in above model in India?

That depends on if you are doing CPU intensive tasks. Personally, as a developer/programmer I have the Mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15" with all the goodies. The Quadcore processor is indeed fast. If you live in the United States, you can get an awesome deal on the Mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15" at BHPhotoVideo

No it won't if You're not planning to use the Premiere or After Effects. Both of them use much of a CPU (this is why You need i7) and AE is using LOTS of graphic card.

I've been working as a graphic designer on 13" MD101 MBP which is 16GB of Ram, 2.5 Ghz i5, Intel Iris 4000 for 3 years now and at the moment I got only 8GB of RAM installed and for Photoshop + Illustrator it's absolutely everything You need (connected to the external monitor all the time, 24" mine).

If You want to make movies, go to the older iMac which absolutely kills the newest Retina MBP. Check this YouTube video, it helped me a lot 🙂

Depends entirely on what you'll be doing. for Photoshop, and normal web design you won't notice it much if at all.

I'd push the RAM up to 16GB if at all possible. Since you can't change it later, its better to get more now, and not be left wanting it later.

Other than that, as long as you feel comfortable with a 128GB internal SSD its fine.

Thank you All, I really appreciate your feedback.

It has helped me a lot to understand the MBP performance related stuff.

I have made up my mind to go for following:

Only thing i need to check is if possible i could get 16GB ram, which i think in India its not possible.

13-inch with Retina display [I already have 22" monitor which i will use for big display output]

2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache

Intel Iris Graphics 6100

Let see i going to visit one of the store.

Yes one problem here is India doesn't have Proper Apple Store, where i could get the some more option.

But yeah i am going with it.
