Q: time machine

Hi all,

I've been trying to back-up my old macbook air after not having used it for a while, and time machine keeps not finishing the back-up process. It shoots the following error-message:

Now, it seems like iPhoto is causing these (-43) and 11:11 errors, but I don't know what to do about it. Maybe you guys could help me out?

Thanks a bunch,

Jasper

10.4.10 is not a Time Machine compatible operating system.   Is your signature on your profile referring to some other machine in your network you are trying to backup, or was that just a typo on your part?

Yes, my bad! My specs are up top:

Look at Skippingstones solution and see if it makes a difference on this thread:

Try going to System Preferences/Time Machine/Options and exclude the iPhoto Library from your backup. Run Time Machine to see if it will successfully back up. If so, that isolates the problem. Take the Library out of excluded and try a iPhoto Library rebuild.

Seems to be working so far. Time machine has been able to make a back-up when excluding iPhoto. Only now it's been stuck 'cleaning up' for over 24 hours. I'll wait and see what happens

Alright, iPhoto indeed has been the culprit. However, also after a rebuild of my iPhoto library the problem persists. Here's the log:

Error -35 while resolving alias to backup target

Try a reset (A4). That has helped me in the past.

Alas, resetting (the a4 option) didn't fix the problem either. I'm at a loss...

Long shot, but try looking at C2 and the rest of section C.
