Updated to latest 5.6.1 in pages but still won't let me open file

Good morning.

I was sent a Pages file from a friend and when I tried to open it, I was prompted to update. So I updated to 5.6.1, which I believe is the latest, but every time I try to open the file it sends me in circles to update again. It prompts me to "Open" (see attached), and when I try to open it prompts me that "It's time to update" (see

attached).

I have rebooted. Any suggestions on how to get this file open? Thanks so much!
