Is anyone here using the LG 34 inc monitor with the older Mac Pro?

Logic Pro X, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), MacPro 3.46 12 core

EXACTLY which model LG 34-in display?


Mac Pro 5,1 42b silver tower, 2010/12 model? which graphics card installed?

That is not your cable -- that is an "extension cord" cable. You need a "standard" male-to-male.


"DisplayPort" commonly means mean full-sized DisplayPort.


Full-size DisplayPort is electrically compatible with Mini Displayport and ThunderBolt subset (same small connector as on your 5870 display card).
