Backup issues with iPhone and Mac

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and I was thinking about downloading iOS 9.3 Beta, but when I tried to back up my computer to iTunes it already had the encrypted backup box checked even though I didn't create a password yet. I have tried to change/add the password many times but none of the passwords that I have tried have worked. Is anyone else having this issue?
