Deleting media imported from iPhotos

I good a MacBook pro about two weeks ago and I uploaded all my GoPro media to iPhotos and iMovie. But now, I have only 8GB of data left on the entire flash drive!!! So how do I delete the media imported on the iPhoto library that is imported in my iMovie? And will that delete my original items in iPhotos?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

If you imported the media into iMovie via the Photos library which appears in iMovie then iMovie will be referencing them and there will be only one copy, in the Photos library.

If you imported directly into iMovie from the camera, camera card or file on the Mac then iMovie will have copied the media into its library and will not be using any duplicate copies that may be in the Photos library.
