Upgrading Mountain Lion to Mavericks without fresh installation?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my Mac from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (I don't want to do Yosemite or El Capitan as yet as not all of my software is fully compatible), but I was wondering if it were possible to not have to do a clean installation, but just upgrade? I know it was an option when Mavericks was the current OSX, but not sure if it's doable now.

I have the installation for Mavericks.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

James

Yes. Install it normally.

Unless you "purchased" Mavericks in the past, it is no longer available. Upgrading is only to El Capitan. If you have compatibility issues then stay where you are.

See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps. Be sure to check if your older software has been upgraded for El Capitan or look for possible replacements that are compatible.

If you have the Mavericks installer, then just run it. It will then update your current prior version. Please read the following: Basic Steps for Upgrading OS X.
