Q: Which disk should I change? The Macintosh HD?

I Have read the directions. I am attempting to create a new disk but I want to know which one. The Hitachi or the Macintosh HD. The Mac HD had 31.79 GB of available space, the Hitachi has 159.83 used of 160.04.

There is only one disk. Macintosh HD is a partition on the Hitachi disk. It's unclear exactly what you're trying to do and why. Please be more specific.

You are trying to create it? Is this what you read? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203223 The indented drive is the one you want.

I Am trying to turn file vault off so my computer. I was told if i turn file vault off my computer will run faster. I do not have enough space to turn it off.
