game center won't work D:???

Whenever I try to open the game center app it just stays blank the whole time... When i go to it in settings the whole iPad will freeze D: I've tried to reset the settings and turn the iPad completely off and back on and it won't work. I really don't want to do a whole reset but is that what I will need to do? Please help! I've spent over 50$ on things that won't work without game center
