iPhone 6s Touch is asking for passcode and forgot it, what do I do?

I bought a new iPhone 6s and a week and a half later, while I was recharging it, it asked me to input a passcode and I cannot remember it. I have reset my Apple ID, logged in, and there is no clear direction to recover my passcode so I can use my new iPhone? I need help or need direction to follow to recover and use my cell phone.
