docking station not supported now - worked fine before

I have an Ipod Touch 6th Gen and bought an Apple Lightening connector to play music on it on my docking station. All worked fine until today when i get the message that my Ipod does not support the docking device. I think i may have received some kind of automatic update the other day on my Ipod which may have caused the issue. Ive tried resetting the settings, but that didnt work. Is there something i can do to make this work again.

iPod touch, iOS 9.2.1

- Does the dock have a lightning connector?

- Have you went to the dock manufacturer's support site?

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod and dock for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic

You can try:

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

However, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility
