Mail not recognising email account post restore of new Mac

Just restored a new Macbook pro from time machine backup of old pro with filed hard drive. However Mail, notes and calendar are not recognising my iCloud (@me.com) email address. Accounts is showing 3 inactive versions but it does not recognise the password.
