Couldn't create mail attachment

Im trying to send a numbers document as an excel document via mail. I click on "share>send via mail>excel" I get the error message that it couldn't create mail attachment. iWork's encountered an error while trying to create attachment. I do not have an "illegal" characters in my document, I keep running across that possible solution from other post. I have this same issue when trying to send documents from pages as well.
