I have noted that possible new users to this sight. When looking answers to problems will add their questions to ongoing posts that in some cases are two three years older or more. Or to new ones,instead of creating a question and starting their own. is there away to add a comment so that this does not happen as much. If i see old posts show up as current I usually don't go to them as in some cases they go on for pages and pages. Thank you.

I did not think of that. But I use google search and searches in here and have never posted a question to an already existing question or post. Going back 10 years or more.
You can let the poster know that the OP has already moved on and technology has improved.
My theory is that some websites prefer you add your question to a existing thread rather then starting a new thread. If that's the problem after a newbie is told to search for similar threads they would naturally add their question to the existing thread.
