IEEE 1394 to USB on macbook Air

Hi there, I've been trying to transfer my videos from my Canon ZR960 to my MacBook air through a Firewire (IEEE 1394) to USB cable, but it is not working, my mac won't read the camera and neither will the windows side on the BootCamp partition. How can I fix this, how can I transfer the videos (On mini cassette) to my MacBook Air?

It's greatly appreciated.

Hi luis098765,

I see that you are experiencing some difficulty when attempting to import MiniDV video from your camera to your MacBook Air. I see that you are trying to use a FireWire to USB cable in order to accomplish this. I would suggest that you use a FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter instead, as a USB connection will not allow you to import tape-based media into your computer.
