I have not deleted my messages (not email) from my iphone 6+ because I want to save them. They are taking up 2.3gb of storage. Is there some way to transfer them to my icloud storage?

No. Messages are stored in iCloud and updated dynamically, so if you delete them, they are deleted everywhere (iCloud included). You can create a backup, but backups are overlayed as you continue to do them, so there is no way to "save" messages to iCloud.
