memory problems: after deleting all photos from iPhoto, they are appearing in "all files" in Finder. How to delete them permanently? THX

Hi All,

I get messages from the system that my Mac HD is almost full.

This is due to the 8000+ RAW format photos on my MacBook Air.

Then I decided to export each of them to an external HD, then I deleted from the iPhoto. The application is empty, even the trash bin.

However all of the deleted photos are still appearing in the "all files" menu in the Finder.

My question is: how could I make the system refreshed in order to free up the memory by really erasing the deleted photos from the SD HD?

Thanks for your support.

1. Re-index Macintosh HD.

Storage categories shown are based on Spotlight index.

This will take a while. Wait until it is finished.

System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy

2.Try OmniDiskSweeper. This will show the storage size details of the items.

Select Macintosh HD and click “Sweep Selected Drive” at the bottom.

Be careful. Delete only the files that can be safely deleted. If you are not sure about any file, don’t touch it.

Hi dominic23,

Thank you for your instructions, I followed it.

Still not there... 😟

System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy

1) click "apple" /prefferences menu - done

2) click on the spotlight icon - done

3) click on privacy button - done

4) what to drag and drop?

5) I drag and drop iPhoto (from Finder menu) - but the system did not ask for any confirmation - nothing has happened.

6) I did "-" the iPhoto item from the list - nothing has happened

7) I closed the application - nothing has happened

Finally I proceed a system restart, it is still no re-indexed.

Please help... 🙂
