I posted to a thread started by another person and my post was Headlined in Red "XXXXX has been Banned from Posting" was it because I entered someone else's thread or is there some other reason?

If the name displayed was not yours, this is a long standing forum bug. Usually a logout/login will fix the issue. The forum hosts are aware of the issue and have stated that they are searching for a solution.
