Siri, always says "Sorry I can't search for that while your driving" even when I'm out of my car in my office. I've asked Apple Technical support but they don't even know that CarPlay exists ...
I Have this issue as well. I just woke up this morning and asked Siri to look up something. She refused because I was in the car. Maybe we can help each other identify the cause. I do have a Lightening connector CarPlay head unit in the car and an Automatic OBDII device that connects to my phone with Bluetooth. Whenever Siri tells me I'm in the car I always verify the Automatic isn't somehow connected and i positive the CarPlay isn't. Do you have similar conditions?
CarPlay - Siri thinks I'm still in the car when I'm in my office.
