My iPhone 5S does not work abroad. Can anyone help?

Hi,

I live in Austria and bought the phone in Austria. I have a contract with 3 but have tried other sim cards too. No matter which sim card I have this phone does not work when I leave Austria. My contract with 3 should allow m to use the phone abroad as if I were still in Austria but it just does not work. Does anyone know if I can do anything to change this? It is so frustrating! I have already contacted 3 several times and they have no answers.

Ask 3 to unlock your phone for use with other providers.

I can use the phone in Austria with other providers. I tried it the last time I left for the UK. Still didn't work once I got there though with either sim card.

What do you mean when you say the phone "doesn't work"? How does it not work?

It says "no service" in the left hand top corner and I am completely unable to phone or send messages. The only way I can send a message is via whatsapp if I connect to a wifi network. Nothing else works. I've tried turning it on and off, tried everything I can think of but it's always the same.
