Bug: OpenGL @ 480P with new Apple TV 4

I have a Panasonic 480P plasma Monitor. Apple TV 4 is supposed to be compatible with 480P, however there seems to be a bug in the OS when launching games which rely on OpenGL (I assume it's OpenGL).

Everything works fine until I launch a Game which is 3D - then the screen goes black and I get a "no signal" message from the TV. I have to toggle to a different input, click the remote a few times then toggle back to the Apple TV input to get the video to display again. It seems that during the initial load of the game, the AppleTV is sending out a 1080P resolution (I assume) which my TV can't display.

It happens with any game that uses 3D, so it's not a 3rd party developer problem.

Here is a video of it happening:

I hope someone from Apple sees this and can escalate it to the OS developers!

Hi Paul,

Looks like the app is trying to force a change of resolution to one your TV does not support.

Not all games on Apple TV are developed with the tools provided by apple, especially games. It is up to the app developer to support a range of resolutions.

It's a shame this is happening as I'm sure you have your reasons for not upgrading to a monitor with support for higher resolutions.
