Q: I cannot get FaceTime on my computer

I cannot get face time on my computer using my work email.  Every time it asks for apple ID and I give them my ID and it says it doesn't work.  Yet here I am so i know my apple ID is valid.  Can i not use my other address because it is not my apple ID?
