Apple music is too annoying to use

Right; I wish I didn't have to write this, but Apple Music has frustrated me so much over the 6 months that I've used it, that I must.

Why oh why is the offline music feature so terrible?!

I download music for offline use, only to find that when I don't have internet they will not play. In addition, if they do play, after a month or so they dissapear again and I have to re-download them. Even more annoying is that songs that aren't shown as being available offline I can actually play offline! I presume this means it saved them in the cache, which explains why my music library uses more storage than it states.

Something which I noticed others have issues with which doesn't bother me as much is that album artwork is often incorrect.

Any solutions to any of these problems?

All in all this has been screwing up my music library over the last months to the point where I am about to switch to spotify. I hoped that apple music would be a nice way to combine music streaming (which is in fact extremely slow compared to spotify and others) and my music library. Alas.

What is extremely frustrating to me, among other things, is the music I purchased (explicit) gets frequently replaced with edited versions of albums. It's like Apple Music is matching my purchased music rather than playing the actual albums I purchased from iTunes and it's matching that music with the edited versions. This in addition to the issues with offline playback make for a less than ideal experience that I didn't have with some of the competitor applications. I also wish it was easier to find new music. Tidal is really easy in finding new artists I had never heard of before that line with my music tastes.
