Q: synching shuffle

I sign into ITunes synch and plug in my shuffle but although I can see the music I've downloaded, it keeps telling me to synch with iTunes. What do I do?

I see that you get a message to sync your iPod when you plug it in. Have you synced the iPod? What happens when you do?
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using USB
