The update does not specifically mention OCSPD crashing so I doubt it is related & may not make any difference.

OSCPD handles certificates, it ensures they are up to date or removed when revoked so that https connections can work securely. If your certificates were out of date it could be possible to snoop into 'secure traffic' (sites like Amazon, Gmail all use https - s is for secure). Keep an eye out to see if it has been fixed by the update, it is possible to disable the feature, however it is a good idea to ensure your certificates are up to date.
OCSPD does collect data from the internet, so let us know if you have anything out of the ordinary on your network or if your connection changed around the time the crashes began.
