How to make iMovies viewable in Windows

I have iMovies from my iPad saved on my iCloud Drive. I followed Apple's instructions for saving iMovies to the iCloud and had no problem. Now, however, when I download them to my Windows 10 laptop they are unviewable in Windows Media Player, Microsoft Movies & TV, Quicktime, and iTunes. No matter what app I use to attempt to view the .mov files I get an error indicating that the file type is unsupported or the wrong codex was used to compress the file. In Quicktime I get Error 2028. What can I do to be able to view my iMovies in Windows?

iPad, iOS 9.2.1, iMovies version 2.2.1

Well, apparently this must be a Windows 10 issue because I tried downloading the iMovies to my PC which uses Windows 7 and the movies play just fine on the QuickTime player.
