My iPad is completely black screened!

I've had my iPad for a little under a year now and this weekend I've had the same issue twice.


Only Saturday I opened up Safari and the screen went blue for several seconds, except with a single line right at the top which flickered. Then everything went black. I restarted via the home/power button no problem, but then on Sunday the same exact thing happened again (it was Safari, too!) and now nothing works. Hard reset, plugging it into my mac, charging, hitting it. Nothing works! I really don't want to get it replaced because I have quite a few things on there no backed up, so anyone got any ideas?
