Q: Why no support for bluetooth 4 mouse in OS X

Why is there no support for third party drivers for Bluetooth 4 mice? Without support for 3rd party drivers the only control panel for the mouse is the default Apple Mouse control panel which offers no customization of button function. So the default is the only Bluetooth Mouse Apple supports is their own magic mouse.

The newest and best standard for wireless mice is bluetooth 4, and for this class of peripherals Apple is essentially blocking any third party products.

Apple, please release the API so that manufacturers and other 3rd party device driver programmers can access these products. Some of us don't like the magic mouse.
