UPS for new iMac

I'm looking for a UPS that has management software which will automatically shut down computer in a power failure. Must be compatible with OS X 10.11.3. Recommendations would be appreciated.

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X 10.11.3

What you want to look for is a "Smart" UPS. American Power Conversion (APC) has several models as well as several other manufacturers.

I use a APC Smart ups. Work out what size you need, and then add a little for future expansion. You don't really need a sinewave UPS for a iMac but I personally prefer them. Make sure it has AVR (protection from voltage drops and power spikes) Cyberpower also do great UPS's

The Mac OS will automatically recognize your UPS once you plug it into a USB port. You do not need any management software that comes with the UPS as most of the included softwares are not compatible with a Mac.
