numbers document does not open when sent to someone else

Are you sharing the Numbers document with others who also have the application Numbers? Can you provide any details about the computer, Operating System, application the other people are using?

If the people you are sharing with only have MS Excel, then you may need to use the menu item "File > Export To…" then choose PDF or Excel.
