Back-To-App Link - Top-left & Top-right

Question on the back link, using Quora as an example. I noticed that if I receive an email from Quora that tapping the link opens directly in the native Quora app. Along the top of the screen is the back-to-whatever line on the left and on the right was a forward link to quora.com, which I tapped. Now, whenever I tap a Quora link it opens in Safari and not the native app; there is no longer a forward link on the top-right. I tried removing and reinstalling the Quora native app altogether but that didn't work. I have tried this with other apps and the behavior is the same - if I click the forward button, the link opens in Safari.

How do I get that functionality back?
